Gender Expansive Services
Services Include:
- Gender Affirming primary and preventive care
- Hormone therapy initiation and management
- Gender affirming surgical referrals
- Medical provider and Mental Health provider letters of support
- Preoperative and postoperative care for gender affirming surgeries
- Trans-affirming GYN care, including cervical cancer screening and pelvic exams
- HIV and STI testing, counseling, and treatment
- PEP and PREP
- Referrals to transgender advocates, legal support, and other services
- LGBTQ Advocate/Liaison: including name and/or gender marker change support
- Behavioral and mental health care – individual counseling, family counseling, and support groups for youth and adults
- Gender Expansive Services Clinic – all ages, 1st Wed/month
- Teen Gender Group: ages 12-18, 1st and 3rd Wed/month
Payments Accepted:
Private Pay, Most major insurances, Medicare, Medi-Cal, CMSP, Medi-Cal for Families.
Other low cost programs include: Sliding scale, FPACT, CDP, CHDP.

Gender Affirming Primary and Specialty Care, including medical, behavioral and mental health for all ages is available at all West County Health Center primary care sites, West County Teen Clinic and Wellness Center. Access to quality, affirming care is a priority for WCHC aligned with our mission to reduce barriers to healthcare and health disparities. If you identify as transgender or gender expansive in any way, please let the scheduler know so we can prioritize scheduling you. We can serve as your primary care provider, or, if you have a primary care provider who is not yet comfortable providing your gender related care, we can serve on a consultative basis as well.
We want to address you correctly; while we will bill under your insurance name and gender, please offer us your name and pronouns used if they are different from your insurance billing information so we can appropriately address and serve you.

Monthly Gender Expansive Services Clinic
WCHC strives to provide gender-affirming primary care to all gender expansive patients. We have gender-affirming and educated healthcare providers at all clinic locations; gender expansive folks are welcome to establish care at any of our clinics for primary care or behavioral health. In addition, we host a monthly Gender Expansive Services Clinic, a group medical visit open to individuals, as well as family, friends. Individual medical visits and identity documentation change support are also
available at the monthly Gender Expansive Services Clinic.
